How to Become a Money-Making Coach

If you already know and decided that you are going to be a coach but you’re not quite sure how to make money with your expertise, this one is for you.

In today’s live stream, I’m sharing 3 key things you can do to set yourself up for the best chance of success.

Focus on 1 offer

If you’re less than 6 figure, my recommendation is to focus on 1 offer and don’t scale your product suite too early too soon.

The reason for that is

we want to be a master, an expert of something, not a jack of all trades

the last thing you want is to confuse your clients because when they feel confused, they hold their horses and hesitate to buy from you or work with you. When you have 2–3 offers to sell, your clients could be trapped in a choice struggle and when you confuse them, you lose them.

focusing 100% of your effort, time and energy on 1 offer can improve your communication with clients and understand what they need and want within that aspect of what you offer. If you expand your product suite too early too soon, you’ve got to be taking care of 2–3 sets of different worries, struggles, hopes that your clients are looking for different offers. If you’re less than 6-figures, honestly there just isn’t enough resources and most likely you’ll end up not doing anything well and it will be a waste of time and efforts, not to mention causing all the overwhelm and pressure on yourself. We want to avoid that.

It also gives an unprofessional image that you are not sure what you are doing. It delivers a message that you’re testing, trying things out, throwing spaghetti on the walls to see what sticks.

2. Think Sales, Learn Sales, Master Sales

Sales is the no 1 most important skill you need to build any business to 6-figure

how else can you grow a business to 6 figure without sales support

even if you look for investment, no one would invest if you’re not making sales / profit

Without sales, you ain’t going to have ANY business at all.

Without sales, you have a hobby.

Without sales, your business cannot sustain and is destined to fail.

Without sales, you won’t have any cashflow to support a team or automated technology to scale the business.

Without sales, the number of followers in any social media platforms is irrelevant

Without sales, all the infrastructure (email marketing system, funnel, blog, website, webinar, ads) would be liabilities.

The easiest way to learn sales and master sales is to have a replicable sales process — a sustainable, simplified and soulful series of process of sales to bring potential clients closer to you to turn them into paying clients that you can do again and again.

3. Commit to the process

in business, if you want sustainable, scalable results, you need to commit. Commit to the process, commit to showing up consistently (again, think about relationship — if your date don’t show up consistently and disappear from time to time, would you trust him / her? Would you feel secured enough to share a future together?), commit to consistent execution (yes, actions always speak louder than words).

Too many people I’ve seen (including the past me) run business like a sprint rather than a marathon. We want to earn money fast. We want the strategy that can attract clients tomorrow and 6-figure the day after. Most likely, there would not be any solid foundation or trust relationship in the business and it will be a boom and bust venture.

Let me be really honest with you — there will be times when you feel like you want to try something new, there will be times when you doubt yourself if this works, there will be times when you face distractions (like a 7-figure coach can tell you to use another system) and if you have shiny object syndrome, you could be easily affected.

That’s why we really want to make clear of what we want, what is our business philosophy and framework as early in the journey as possible.

And based on that philosophy — we choose our strategy.

You’ll never see Warran Buffett doing day trading in stocks right? His philosophy is value investing and holding valuable stocks for life. And he commits to the process no matter how many day traders say they earn 120% a day, double the money in 2 hours right?

We need to do the same. Decide on our philosophy and commit to the process.

My philosophy is sales, I believe that sales is what makes a business grows and sales is all about serving and providing a relevant solution at a price lower than perceived value, and I believe in the replicable sales process that I can repeat and get clients on demand. I believe in running business in the “sustainable, simplified, soulful” way. That’s how I show up consistently. And that’s when my business really starts to fire up when I nailed in my philosophy.
